What is EWG VERIFIED® Certification?
EWG VERIFIED® is a trademark licensing certification program based on a set of published health standards independently developed by the EWG research team. The program is science-based and supported by decades of EWG expertise in health and safety.

When you see the EWG VERIFIED® mark on a product, it indicates that the product does not contain any chemicals prohibited by EWG and meets the organization’s strictest health standards. To date, more than 2,000 products have been approved under the EWG VERIFIED® program, supported by at least 31 million online followers and more than 5,000 published reports.
Which products can obtain EWG VERIFIED® certification?
Baby care and diapers: baby creams, diaper rash ointments, diapers, baby laundry detergent, baby oil, baby wipes, etc.
Personal care products: shampoos, conditioners, soaps, body lotions, sunscreens, perfumes, body wash, BB creams, etc.

Strict Requirements of EWG VERIFIED® Certification
EWG has established strict standards applicable to all EWG VERIFIED® products, as outlined below:

Green rating requirement: Products must achieve a green rating in EWG’s Skin Deep® database.
Avoid unacceptable ingredients: The EWG VERIFIED® “Unacceptable List” contains more than 13,000 ingredients, and certified products must not contain any of them.
Compliance with restricted ingredients list: The EWG VERIFIED® “Restricted List” includes more than 9,000 ingredients, and products must not contain any listed substances.
Full ingredient disclosure: Manufacturers must fully disclose all product ingredients on the label.
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP): Manufacturers must comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure product quality and consistency.
EU fragrance allergen labeling requirements: Products must comply with EU requirements for labeling fragrance allergens.
Reporting and testing requirements: Companies must commit to reporting all product issues or serious adverse events to the US. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and EWG. EWG also reserves the right to conduct random product testing to verify compliance.
EWG VERIFIED® Certification Process
Define product scope: Ensure the product falls within EWG’s applicable categories.
Submit application: Provide application form and full ingredient list for initial review.
Submit product documentation: Provide supplier information, formulation documents, and other relevant materials.
Certification issuance: If approved by EWG, a licensing agreement will be issued. After signing the agreement, the EWG VERIFIED® mark may be used on product packaging, company websites, and marketing materials.
