What is Allergy UK?
In 1991, the British Allergy Foundation was established by a group of leading allergy specialists from Bath University. It was later renamed Allergy UK. It is a patient-focused organization dedicated to supporting people suffering from various allergies. In order to improve the lives of allergy patients, Allergy UK created the Seal of Approval and the Allergy Friendly Product Award.

In 2021, Allergy UK conducted a large-scale allergy study involving 7,000 people across the United Kingdom, aiming to understand the real situation of allergy sufferers, public perceptions of allergies, levels of awareness, and the challenges faced by allergy patients in daily life. The study showed that 76% of respondents believed allergies should be given greater attention, 61% believed the government should provide more support for allergy sufferers, 53% of adults avoided social situations due to allergies, and 54% of parents were very or extremely concerned about their children experiencing allergic reactions. Therefore, product selection requires special attention for the large population of allergy sufferers.
Seal of Approval & Allergy Friendly Product Award
The Allergy UK Seal of Approval™, established in 1995, is a globally recognized product certification. Currently, more than 100 companies in 135 countries use this seal on a wide range of products. It is mainly used for products that have been independently scientifically tested to reduce allergens in indoor environments or have been clinically proven to be suitable for allergy sufferers.

The Allergy Friendly Product Award allows the use of the Allergy Friendly Product™ mark. It is mainly applied to products that are less likely or unlikely to cause allergic reactions and may be beneficial for people with allergies.
