Background
As one of the world’s largest consumers and importers of ceramic tiles, the United States has established relevant standards for ceramic tile testing. In 2008, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) issued the ceramic tile standard ANSI A137.1-08, which has now been updated to ANSI A137.1-2021.
Classification of Ceramic Tiles
In U.S. standards, ceramic tiles are classified in two ways.
