National Standard for Ceramic Tiles GB/T 4100-2015 (Ceramic Tiles—Definitions, Classification, Properties, and Marking)
Category:
Ceramic Tile
Background
The development of China’s ceramic tile industry has broadly gone through four stages: infancy, rapid growth, product competition, and brand competition. Currently, according to widely accepted data, China’s annual ceramic tile production has reached 3.41 billion square meters, accounting for approximately half of global production. China has also established relevant testing standards for ceramic tile products.GB/T 4100-2015 specifies the terms and definitions, classification, performance characteristics, sampling and acceptance criteria, requirements and test methods, as well as marking and labeling requirements for ceramic tiles.
Classification of Ceramic Tiles
According to the national standard, ceramic tiles are classified based on their forming methods and water absorption rates.
