Introduction to EMC Testing for Audio and Video Products

    Category:

    EU CE-EMC

AV audio and video products are widely used in today’s society for entertainment, education, office work, and other applications. Affected by the pandemic, an increasing number of consumers have relied on audio and video devices for learning and professional tasks, highlighting their growing importance. With the development of 5G and AI technologies, AV audio and video products have further evolved into key entry points in the internet era. During the rapid development of AV products, their electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) has also received increasing attention worldwide.

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) of AV Audio and Video Products includes electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic immunity (EMS).

To address electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic immunity (EMS) issues in AV audio and video products, Europe has established specific requirements for the electromagnetic compatibility of these products. They must comply with applicable EMC standards and bear the CE marking before being sold in the European market.

Note: Countries where the CE marking is valid: European Economic Area (EEA), including the 27 European Union member states, Germany, Liechtenstein, Iceland, and Norway.

EMC Applicable to certified AV audio and video products include:

Speakers, audio and video teaching equipment, video projectors, video cameras and monitors, power amplifiers, DVD players, turntables and CD players, CRT TVs, LCD TVs, tape recorders, radios, etc.
