    Introduction to EMC Testing for IT Information Products

    Information Technology (IT) involves the use of computers to create, process, store, retrieve, and exchange various types of electronic data and information. With the rapid advancement of science and technology, information technology products have become an essential part of everyday life.To ensure proper operation, these products must meet electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements. Otherwise, they may cause interference to other electronic devices, affecting their functionality and stability, and contributing to electromagnetic pollution.On the other hand, when operating in a specific electromagnetic environment, products with insufficient electromagnetic immunity may be affected by interference, resulting in malfunction or even complete failure.

     

     

     
     

    Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) of Information Technology Products includes electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic immunity (EMS).

    To address electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic immunity (EMS) issues in information technology products, Europe has established specific requirements for the electromagnetic compatibility of these products. They must comply with applicable EMC standards and bear the CE marking before being sold in the European market.

     

     
     

    Note: Countries where the CE marking is valid: European Economic Area (EEA), including the 27 European Union member states, Germany, Liechtenstein, Iceland, and Norway.

     

    EMC Applicable to certified IT information products include:

    Personal computers, telephones, scanners, routers, cash registers, printers, accounting machines, calculators, cash dispensers, copiers, data circuit-terminating equipment, data preprocessing equipment, data processing equipment, data terminal equipment, dictation devices, paper shredders, duplicators, power adapters, chassis power supplies, digital cameras, etc.
