FedEx Corporation is one of the largest express transportation companies in the world today. To improve the efficiency of FedEx package delivery and reduce customer complaints, FedEx has established a packaging transport testing and evaluation program, ISTA 6-FEDEX. FedEx's packaging test program is based on industry data and standards from the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) to provide reliable packaging transport testing.
ISTA 6-FEDEX divides packaging into two types by weight: packages weighing 150 lb or less, and packages weighing over 150 lb.
ISTA 6-FEDEX-A : FedEx test procedure for packaged products weighing up to 150 lb
A general simulation procedure for testing packaged products weighing up to 150 lb. The test requirements include various combinations of the following tests: free fall, concentrated impact, bridge impact, compression, rotational vibration, and random vibration.
