GB/T 19277.1-2011 (ISO 14855:2005) or ISO14855:2012 Determination of the ultimate aerobic biodegradability of plastic materials under controlled composting conditions. Method by analysis of evolved carbon dioxide. Part 1: General method
GB/T 19277.1 specifies a test method for determining the ultimate aerobic biodegradability and disintegration of organic materials under controlled composting conditions by measuring the amount of carbon dioxide released during the degradation process.
GB/T 19277.1 simulates typical aerobic composting conditions that occur when organic fractions are mixed with municipal solid waste. The test materials are exposed to compost-derived inoculum, and the composting process is conducted under controlled environmental conditions, including temperature, oxygen concentration, and moisture content.
GB/T 19277.1 determines the percentage conversion of carbon contained in the test material into released carbon dioxide. According to Clauses 8.6 and 8.7, the standard specifies a method for determining the conversion rate of carbon from the test material into carbon dioxide by using a mineral substrate as an alternative to mature compost as an inoculum containing thermophilic microorganisms obtained through a specific compost treatment process.
GB/T 19277.1 specifies test conditions that may not always represent the optimal conditions for achieving maximum biodegradation.
GB/T 18006.2-1999 Test method for determining the degradability of single use and degradable lunch container and drinking set
GB/T 18006.2 specifies the fundamental principles, scope of application, test conditions, procedures, test report requirements, and key technical requirements for evaluating the photodegradation and biodegradation performance of disposable tableware.
GB/T 18006.2 is applicable to degradation performance testing of disposable tableware products manufactured from biodegradable materials and light-degradable materials.
GB/T 19275-2003 Evaluation of the potential biodegradability and disintegration of plastic materials by the action of the specific microorganisms
GB/T 19275 describes a test method for the qualitative evaluation of the potential biodegradability of materials under the action of specific microorganisms.
GB/T 19275 is only applicable for qualitative assessment of the biodegradability and disintegration characteristics of test materials. It shall not be used as a quantitative basis for determining whether a material is biodegradable or disintegrable. For quantitative evaluation of biodegradability and disintegration performance, other applicable standards should be referenced.
HJ/T 202-2005 The technical requirement for environmental labeling products — Once-used Lunch Container and Drinking Sets
HJ/T 202 specifies the terms and definitions, basic requirements, technical requirements, and test methods for disposable tableware products carrying environmental labeling certification.
HJ/T 202 is applicable to various types of disposable tableware products manufactured from biodegradable materials, light-degradable materials, and recyclable materials.
ISO 846:2019 Plastics - Evaluation of the action of microorganisms
ISO 846 specifies methods for evaluating the degradation of plastics caused by microorganisms, including fungi, bacteria, and soil microorganisms.
The purpose of ISO 846 is not to determine the biodegradability of plastics or the degradation performance of natural fiber-reinforced composites.
