ISO 17966:2016 Assistive products for personal hygiene that support users — Requirements and test methods
ISO 17966:2016 specifies the requirements and relevant test methods for assistive products for personal hygiene (APPHs). These products provide support to users, with manufacturers aiming to reduce or compensate for disabilities.
The standard also includes requirements related to the working environment and safety aspects of assistive products.
ISO 17966:2016 specifies the safety and performance requirements applicable under normal use conditions, as well as foreseeable misuse and malfunction situations.
ISO 17966:2016 also specifies methods for measuring the forces required for operational control and establishes limits for the forces required for certain operations.

BS EN 12182:2012 Assistive products for persons with disability. General requirements and test methods
BS EN 12182:2012 specifies the general requirements and test methods for assistive products for persons with disabilities. According to the definition provided in EU Directive 93/42/EEC, these products are classified as medical devices.
BS EN 12182:2012 does not apply to assistive products that achieve their intended purpose by administering medicinal substances to users.
This European standard applies when specific European standards exist for particular types of assistive products. However, some requirements of BS EN 12182:2012 may still apply and can be considered together with other relevant European standards.
It should be noted that not all products listed in EN ISO 9999 are medical devices. Contracting parties may consider whether this standard, or parts of it, can be applied to products outside the scope of EU Directive 93/42/EEC.
BS 4751:2005 Mobile Sanitary Chairs
BS 4751:2005 specifies the design and performance requirements for mobile sanitary chairs and provides corresponding test methods.
BS 4751:2005 also specifies requirements for user information and product labeling.
BS 4751:2005 applies to mobile sanitary chairs intended for use by both children and adults, including models designed to function as shower chairs. These chairs may be user-propelled or attendant-propelled.
BS 4751:2005 is not applicable to commode chairs.
AS/NZS 3973:2009 (R2016)-Shower/Toilet Chair (Static & Mobile)
AS/NZS 3973:2009 (R2016) specifies material requirements, structural requirements, performance criteria, test procedures, and labeling requirements for chairs intended for use in shower and toilet environments, including portable shower chairs, portable toilet chairs, static toilet chairs and stools, and static shower chairs and stools.Chairs intended for use in swimming pools or other highly corrosive environments are excluded.
