The Canadian MSDS contains only nine sections: product name and manufacturer information, hazardous chemical ingredients, physical properties, fire‑fighting and flammability data, reactivity data, toxicological properties, preventive measures, first‑aid procedures, and preparation information.

Hazard information shall specify the principal physical and chemical hazards of the chemical, as well as relevant information on its effects on human health and the environment. If the chemical exhibits any specific hazardous properties, these must also be described herein.
SDS/MSDS Chemical composition information (composition/information on ingredients) Explanation
The chemical composition information provides a brief overview of the product’s ingredients, including their chemical names, common names, CAS numbers, and other relevant details. For ingredients posing health hazards, their exact percentage concentrations must be specified. If the precise percentages of certain ingredients are commercial secrets, this may be stated, along with an indication of the concentration range. Additionally, if the specific identities and percentage levels of certain chemicals are confidential, such information must also be disclosed in the safety data sheet.
