ISO 9001
ISO 9001 is an internationally recognized Quality Management System (QMS) standard. It is the most widely used QMS standard in the world, with more than 1.1 million certificates issued to organizations in over 170 countries/regions. ISO 9001 provides a framework and a set of principles to ensure that organizations are managed using a common-sense approach to consistently meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders. In simple terms, ISO 9001 certification establishes a foundation for effective processes and competent personnel to consistently deliver effective products or services.

What is ISO 9001 Quality Management System?
The ISO 9001 Quality Management System documents the processes, procedures, and responsibilities required to achieve quality policies and objectives. Based on seven quality management principles, the latest version of the standard, ISO 9001:2015, defines how an organization operates to meet the requirements of its customers and stakeholders.
The seven quality management principles included in ISO 9001 are:
1.Customer Focus
2.Leadership
3.Engagement of People
4.Process Approach
5.Improvement
6.Evidence-Based Decision Making
7.Relationship Management

What Are the Benefits of ISO 9001?
ISO 9001 helps organizations ensure that customers consistently receive high-quality products and services, resulting in many benefits, including increased satisfaction among customers, management, and employees.

◉ Improve customer, management, and employee satisfaction
◉ Continuously improve their processes
◉ Reduce costs
In Nevada, the Clark County School District used ISO 9001 and achieved savings of USD 174 million over 10 years through actual expenditures and cost avoidance. More than 3,000 employees were trained on the standard.
ISO 9001:2015 Certification
ISO 9001 is the only standard in the ISO 9000 family that can be certified by organizations.
Obtaining ISO 9001:2015 certification means that an organization has demonstrated that it:
◉ Follows the guidelines of the ISO 9001 standard
◉ Meets its own internal requirements
◉ Meets customer requirements and applicable legal and regulatory requirements
◉ Maintains the ability to document its processes
Steps for ISO 9001:2015 Certification
Before starting the certification process, an organization needs to implement a quality management system according to ISO 9001 requirements and fully document its effectiveness.
Document Review: Evaluate company documents and records.
On-Site Audit: Verify whether actual activities comply with ISO 9001 requirements and company records.
Gap Reduction: The organization identifies and implements corrective actions to address the root causes of any non-conformities identified during the audit.
Certification Issuance: Issue ISO 9001 certification and certification mark.
Surveillance Audit: Annual audits are required to maintain certification validity.
The certificate is valid for three years, and recertification is required every three years to maintain ISO 9001 certification status.
