ISO 12952-1:2010 Standard Description
ISO 12952-1:2010 Textiles—Burning behaviour of bedding items — Part 1: General test methods for the ignitability by a smouldering cigarette
ISO 12952-1:2010 Objective
This standard assesses the flammability of bedding products exposed to a cigarette butt flame. The test method evaluates only the bedding itself, not the combustion behaviour of specific items.

ISO 12952-1:2010 Scope of Application
This part of ISO 12952 applies to bedding items placed on a mattress: mattress covers, padding, incontinence sheets and pads, bed sheets, blankets, electric blankets, quilts and duvet covers, pillows (regardless of filling) and bolsters, and pillowcases. It does not apply to mattresses, bed bases, or mattress pads.

ISO 12952-1:2010 Test Method
Place the test sample on the test substrate (above and/or below), place a smouldering cigarette, and record any progressive smouldering or flaming combustion.
