JIS S 1032: 2016 Office Furniture–Chairs
JIS S 1032 specifies requirements for office chairs consisting of key components such as seats, backrests, armrests, and legs.The standard applies to chairs including stools, folding chairs, and prefabricated chairs.
JIS S 1203: 1998 Furniture—Chairs and Stools—Determination of Strength and Durability
JIS S 1203 specifies test methods for determining the strength and durability of all types of chairs, armchairs, and stools.
Additional testing may be required for certain chair types and chairs intended for specific applications.
JIS S 1203 does not include evaluations of ageing and degradation.
JIS S 1203 is not intended to evaluate the durability of filling materials, interior upholstery fabrics, or foam padding.
JIS S 1203 does not include testing of inclined or tilted seats, including seats tested in reclined or tilted positions.
The forces and dimensions used in the tests apply to chairs and stools intended for adult users.
JIS S 1204: 1998 Furniture—Chair—Determination of Stability: Upright Chairs and Stools
JIS S 1204 specifies a method for determining the stability of all types of upright chairs, stools, and upholstered seating.
JIS S 1204 is not applicable to chaise longues or other multi-seat sofas, reclining lounge chairs, chairs with tilt mechanisms when reclined, or swivel and rocking chairs.However, when these chairs are used in an upright position, the method may be applied to chairs equipped with tilt, reclining, or adjustable backrest-angle mechanisms.
JIS S 1202: 1998 Furniture—Tables—Determination of Stability
JIS S 1202 specifies methods for determining the stability of various types of tables.It does not apply to tables permanently fixed to building structures.
JIS S 1205:1998 Furniture—Tables—Determination of strength and durability
JIS S 1102:2017: Beds for domestic use
JIS S 1102 defines a household bed as a product consisting of a mattress for sleeping and a supporting structure.The standard excludes beds with special functions or designs, such as cribs, sofa beds, bunk beds, and reclining beds.
