UL1678:2022 Household, Commercial, and Professional-Use Carts and Stands for Use with Audio/ Video Equipment
UL1678 applies to carts, stands, and shelves intended for household, commercial, and professional use with audio/video equipment, providing structural support surfaces for such equipment.
UL1678 is not applicable to products covered by the Standard for Household and Commercial Furniture (UL 962).
UL1678 is not applicable to carts or similar structures with shelves exceeding 39.37 inches (1 m) in height, intended for use in schools, institutions, hospitals, or other similar environments where children may be present.
UL1678 is not applicable to carts or stands supplied with certain products.
UL1678 is not applicable to any electrical circuits integrated into or installed on carts or stands.
EN 12727:2016 Furniture - Ranked Seating - Test Method and Requirement for Strength and Durability
EN 12727 specifies test methods and requirements for evaluating the structural strength and durability of all types of ranked seating, such as stadium and auditorium seating.
These seats are permanently fixed to the floor and/or wall, either as bench seating or individual seats.
EN 12727 applies to seats permanently installed in rows but does not apply to seats that are not fixed to the floor and/or wall.
EN 12727 is not intended to evaluate the durability of interior upholstery materials, such as upholstery padding and upholstery coverings.
EN 12727 aims to evaluate the structural strength and durability of ranked seating regardless of material, design, construction, or manufacturing process.
BS EN 1729-1:2015 Furniture - Chairs and tables for educational institutions Part 1: Functional dimensions
BS EN 1729-1 specifies the functional dimensions and marking requirements for chairs and tables used in educational institutions for general educational purposes.It covers fixed-height furniture, adjustable-height furniture, and standing-height work tables without accompanying chairs.
BS EN 1729-1 applies to furniture used with laptops or portable devices but does not apply to specialized workstations such as laboratory workstations, ranked seating, or workshop environments.
BS EN 1729-1 is not applicable to furniture intended for teaching staff.

EN 14727:2005 Laboratory furniture - Storage units - Requirements and test methods
EN 14727 specifies requirements and test methods for storage units used in laboratories.
EN 14727 specifies requirements for strength, durability, and safety to prevent serious injuries resulting from normal use and reasonably foreseeable misuse.
According to the structural conditions of the building, EN 14727 does not include safety considerations related to the building structure. For example, the structural integrity of a wall-mounted cabinet applies only to the cabinet itself and its components, and does not include the wall or wall-mounted fixing devices.
It should be understood that testing cannot guarantee that structural failure will never occur due to improper use or long-term usage.
EN 14727 does not include evaluations of electrical appliance ageing, degradation, or heating performance, and does not cover ergonomic requirements or fire resistance.
BS EN 13150 applies to workbenches, mobile science tables, and workstation racks designed for educational institutions and similar laboratory environments.It is not intended for workbenches or workstations used in industrial laboratories, research institutes, universities, or similar research facilities.It is also not applicable to fume cupboards.
BS EN 13150 specifies safety and durability requirements, test methods, and dimensional specifications.

FIRA/FRQG G0001 was developed following the withdrawal of the British Standard covering requirements for furniture glass.The Furniture Retail Quality Group considered that the withdrawal of the British Standard significantly reduced the available safety guidance for glass furniture in the UK. Therefore, this guideline was developed to maintain appropriate safety requirements.
FIRA/FRQG G0001 specifies safety, stability, strength, and durability requirements for household glass furniture.This guideline applies to various types of furniture, including tables, carts, wall-mounted and freestanding mirrors, shelving systems, wall-mounted units, and cabinets with a surface area greater than 0.06 m².
BS EN 13759:2012 Furniture - Operating mechanisms for seating and sofa-beds - Test methods
BS EN 13759 specifies test methods for evaluating the manual and dynamic durability of operating mechanisms used in seating.
It applies to operating tilt mechanisms for adult seating.
BS EN 13759 also specifies test methods for evaluating the durability of mechanisms used to convert sofas and chairs into beds.
BS 8474: 2013 Furniture – Chairs with electrically operated support surfaces – Requirements
EN 14434 specifies ergonomic, technical, and safety requirements and test methods for wall-mounted and freestanding writing boards used in educational and training environments, such as classrooms, schools, and university lecture halls.
EN 14434 aims to prevent serious injuries resulting from normal use and reasonably foreseeable misuse.
EN 14434 applies to installed equipment that depends on the structural integrity of the building.For example, the load-bearing capacity of a wall-mounted writing board applies only to the board, its components, and the wall structure.
EN 14434 does not include requirements related to electrical safety.
