    JIS Z 2801:2010 Antimicrobial products - Test for antimicrobial activity and efficacy

    JIS Z 2801 is an antimicrobial surface test method used to evaluate the antibacterial activity and effectiveness of antimicrobial products.

    JIS Z 2801 is a quantitative antibacterial test method commonly required for evaluating plastics, foams, and textile products, and is harmonized with ISO 22196.

    The JIS Z 2801 test method evaluates hard surfaces and plastic materials by measuring bacterial growth after inoculation with two common bacterial strains, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, with a standard test duration of 24 hours.

    JIS Z 2801 is one of the most commonly requested, rapid, and reliable test methods for evaluating antimicrobial activity and efficacy on surfaces.

    JIS L 1902:2015 Testing Method for Antibacterial of Textiles

    JIS L 1902 specifies quantitative test methods for determining the antibacterial activity of finished antibacterial textile products, including nonwoven fabrics.

    JIS L 1902 applies to all textile products, including fabrics, waddings, yarns, garments, household textile products, and various textile-based materials, regardless of the type of antibacterial agent used (organic or inorganic, natural or synthetic) or the application method (built-in treatment, post-treatment, or grafting treatment).

    The selection of test methods under JIS L 1902 depends on the intended application and usage environment of the textile product.

    Customers may select appropriate methods for evaluating antibacterial activity. Absorption method: The evaluation method involves directly inoculating bacterial suspension onto the specimen. Colony counting methods and ATP bioluminescence methods are also specified for bacterial quantification.
